Helen: So how about you, Vi? How was school?
Violet: Nothing to report.
Helen: You’ve hardly touched your food.
Violet: I’m not hungry for meat loaf.
Helen: Well, it is leftover night. We have steak, pasta. What’re you hungry for?
Dashiell: Tony Rydinger.
Violet: Shut up!
Dashiell: Well, you are.
Violet: I said shut up, you little insect!
Helen: Do not shout at the table. Honey!
Bob (O.S.): Kids, listen to your mother.
[Dashiell into his cup]
Dashiell: She’d eat if it were Tony-loaf.
Violet: That’s it.
[Violet attacks Dash]

Trivia: In the original script, Syndrome only appeared in the opening scene. When the Pixar animators responded much more strongly to him than the main villain (originally named Xerek), he was moved to that role.
