The Daily Dialogue theme for the week is death threats, suggested by Chris Schipper. Today’s suggestion by Teddy Pasternak.

Trivia: The two psychiatrists who reviewed the script at Glenn Close’s request both came to the same conclusion: Alex Forrest’s behavior was — in its own way — classic behavior. Their diagnosis was that Alex had been molested and sexually tortured for an extended period of time while she was a child. As such, she would naturally lash out at anyone who found her desirable.

Dialogue On Dialogue: I know this is before the boiled bunny, but I always thought that no matter Dan’s bluster in this scene, Alex has the upper hand. She’s nuts. Does Dan really think a little thing like death is going to stop her from screwing up Dan’s life if he screws up hers [by not continuing their affair]? A better threat would be, “You know what? I am going to kill you right now before you can tell my wife.” But while Dan may have a dick to have sex with Alex, he doesn’t have the balls to kill her, no matter what he says. And indeed, it’s Dan’s wife who ends up dispatching the demented Alex.
