Reader Question: Is there a source for coverage of recently produced scripts?
From Steven Enloe:
Does anyone know of a good source for script readers’ coverage of recently produced scripts?
And a site with lots of attempts at formulating loglines for recent films?
I’m stumped on this one. I don’t even know of anyone/anywhere who collects script coverage, although that would certainly be an interesting trove.
For amateur reviews, there’s ScriptShadow.
But I’m just going to lob this out to folks to see what they know.
Here’s my question: Apart from just being curious what script readers thought about the script for this or that movie, what would one hope to learn from that exercise?
UPDATE: In my haste yesterday, I didn’t word something accurately. ScriptShadow is a professional script reader. There are plenty of his readers who also review scripts who are not professionals, hence my line “amateur reviews.” Also as Zoe points out, ScriptShadow reviews amateur script per week on Fridays. In any event, it’s an excellent site to keep track of current spec scripts and scripts of movies that come out. I believe I was just about the earliest proponent of ScriptShadow when he first hit the scene and the site has a super active community there, well worth checking out.
