Daily Dialogue — May 19, 2012
— Cesar Soubeyran dit Le Papet (Yves Montand), Manon des sources (1986), screenplay by Claude Berri and Gérard Brach, based on the novel by Marcel Pagnol
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week is first date, suggested by Liz Swan.
Trivia: Debuted in the U.S. at the Telluride Film Festival in 1987 and I was there.
Dialogue On Dialogue: So much of these two movies (Jean de Florette is the first part) uses non-verbal ‘dialogue,’ but the very ending of this film slays me every time I watch it. If you haven’t seen these movies, you simply must. So sad. So beautiful.
