GITS Script Reading & Analysis: “No Country For Old Men” — Dialogue
This week we will be analyzing the screenplay for the 2007 movie No Country For Old Men [screenplay by Joe Coen & Ethan Coen, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy]. It won an Academy Award and a Writers Guild of America Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay.

Today we discuss the script’s dialogue. And there is a lot of it. Of course, much derives from the novel by Cormac McCarthy. It is quite intriguing to follow up on yesterday’s conversation to look at the dialogue of the three principal characters: Moss, Bell, Chigurh as each has a distinct way of speaking. Dig back into the script and see if you can delineate those differences. Plus, of course, highlight your favorite sides of dialogue.
