Jenny: You can sit here if you’d like.
Forrest (V.O.): I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life. She was like an angel.
Jenny: Well, are you gonna sit down, or aren’t you?

Forrest sits down beside Jenny.

Jenny: What’s wrong with your legs.
Forrest: Um, nothing at all, thank you. My legs are fine and dandy.
Jenny: Then why do you have those shoes on?
Forrest: My momma’s said my back is crooked like a question mark. These are going to make as straight as an arrow. They’re my magic shoes.
Jenny: Are you stupid or something?
Forrest: Momma says stupid is as stupid does.
Jenny: I’m Jenny.
Forrest: I’m Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump.
Forrest (V.O.): From that day on, we was always together. Jenny and me was like peas and carrots.

Forrest Gump (1994), screenplay by Eric Roth, novel by Winston Groom

This week’s Daily Dialogue theme is boy meets girl suggested by TaraPhelps.

Trivia: The line, “My name is Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump,” was ad libbed by Tom Hanks while filming the scene and director Robert Zemeckis liked it so much that he decided to keep it in.

Dialogue On Dialogue: We need a few more suggestions to finish out the week.
