Trivia: In the final scene of Jessie’s flashback the tree in the background is the tree from “A Bug’s Life”.

Dialogue On Dialogue: There is an excellent setup and payoff in this sequence, visuals associated with Jessie riding in the car with her owner, the sun shining above. The first time a delight. The second time setting us up to think things will go back the way they were… but then the big emotional wallop of Jessie being left at the donation stop. Powerful stuff and a classic Pixar moment.
