Daily Dialogue theme for next week: Sports Speech.

Seeing as we are in the midst of the World Cup, let’s go with a theme next week suggested by Kalen: Sports Speech.

“It just doesn’t matter! It just doesn’t matter!

Okay, Bill Murray offers a take-off of the motivational sports speech. Play it straight. Play it for laughs. Your choice. But there are literally buttloads of examples in movies of sports speeches. So give me your best shot, people. ‘Coz you know what?

It just does matter! It just does matter!

Why? Someday… in some project… one of you… and I’m not saying who… will be asked to write a sports speech. And one of the seven speeches we feature next week will be the key to your creative breakthrough.

So c’mon, people! Give me your suggestions!

The usual drill:

* Copy/paste dialogue from IMDB Quotes or some other transcript source.

* Copy/paste the URL of an accompanying video from YouTube or some other video source.

I’d also ask you to think about why the dialogue is notable. Is there anything about the dialogue which provides some takeaway re screenwriting?
