Daily Dialogue — June 12, 2015
“My name is Max. My world is fire and blood. Once, I was a cop. A road warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the world fell, each of us in our own ways were broken. It was hard to tell who was more crazy… me… or everyone else.”
— Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), written by George Miller and Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Voice-Over Narration.
Trivia: According to George Miller the film’s storyboard was made even before the screenplay. The reason behind that was because Miller envisioned the film as a continuous chase, with little dialogue and focusing on the visuals. The storyboard was made with the collaboration of five artists and had about 3,500 panels.
Dialogue On Dialogue: If you check out my observations in comments in yesterday’s Mad Max: Fury Road analysis, you’ll see how each of the lines in this opening V.O. narration set up a theme or motif which appears later in the movie.
