Spec Script Deal: “Mid ‘90s”

A24 and Scott Rudin producing spec script drama “Mid ‘90s” written by Jonah Hill. From Variety:

Jonah Hill will step behind the camera to direct coming-of-age film “Mid ’90s” based on the script he penned.

Plot details are vague, but sources say the film follows a young boy coming up in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s learning life lessons with his skateboarding crew of friends. Hill will not be acting in the film, and a production start date is still being worked out.

Hill is repped by WME and LBI Entertainment.

By my count, this is the 14th spec script deal in 2016.

There were 25 spec script deals year-to-date in 2015.
