One month. FADE IN to FADE OUT. Creativity meets Productivity.

Zero Draft Thirty: Day 3.

Write an entire draft of a script in September — FADE IN. FADE OUT. Or any sort of creative goal you have in front of you.

Feature length movie screenplay. Original TV pilot. Rewrite a current project. Break a story in prep. Generate a month’s worth of story concepts.

Whatever you feel will ratchet your creative ambitions into overdrive…

DO THAT!

September 1: You type FADE IN / “Once upon a time…”
September 30: You type FADE OUT / “…They all lived happily ever after.”

It’s free! It’s fun! It’s Fade In to Fade Out!

Today’s Writing Quote

“It’s really important to start off well. If you grab people early in a script, they’re going to keep reading.”

— Carter Blanchard

Today’s Inspirational Video

This is Nandi Bushell. She is awesome! I’ve watched a bunch of her videos. This one is different as she challenged Dave Grohl from Nirvana and the Foo Fighters to a Drum-Off.

My dream is to one day jam with Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins and all the @Foo Fighters! Mr Grohl I would love to have a drum battle with you! I LOVE Everlong it’s really hard to play as it’s so fast but so much FUN!!!

“Mr. Grohl.” Gotta love it. Well, guess what? This happened!

Dave Grohl mimics Nandi’s facial expressions throughout his performance. This is absolutely one of the best things to happen during this God damn pandemic. Takeaway: If Nandi can get Dave Grohl to agree to do a drum-off, there’s no reason we can’t get to FADE OUT in a month!

Zero Draft Thirty: Day 1
Zero Draft Thirty: Day 2

Each day this month, I’ll post a Zero Draft Thirty Challenge post here at Go Into The Story. And as I’ve done with every past Challenge, I will hand out an award for a notable Tweet, Facebook post, or comment here on the blog. This cycle, the winner will receive the Frances Marion Award!

Today’s Frances Marion Award winner: Amy McQuaid. Over in the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group, Amy writes this: “Don’t be a flat squirrel when writing,” accompanied by this photo:

So true. As Grandpa Scamper likes to say:

Therefore, let it be known throughout the ZD30 kingdom that today’s recipient of the Frances Marion Award is Amy McQuaid!

You, too, can be a recipient of an award. Just offer some insight, humor, or something which catches my eye, either here, the Facebook group, or on Twitter (#ZD30SCRIPT).
