About Screenwriting Master Class
Premier online learning resource with Tom Benedek and Scott Myers.
In 2010, my longtime friend, fellow screenwriter (Cocoon), and teacher (University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts) and I launched ScreenwritingMasterClass.com. Our goal was simple: To create the best online educational resource available for anyone interested in learning the craft of screenwriting and TV writing. To that end:
- We created a comprehensive curriculum to learn writing theory.
- We designed a set of over a dozen classes covering an extensive range of subjects related to writing craft.
- We developed a set of writing workshops enabling writers to take a story from concept to first draft and through the rewriting process.
Whether a person’s interest is screenwriting, TV writing, networking in Hollywood, one-on-one private script workshops, or their experience level is beginner, intermediate, advanced, or even professional, Screenwriting Master Class has evolved into a go-to online educational resource for any writer serious about learning the craft.

With over 50 years experience working in the film and TV business, Tom and I have an extensive understanding of how Hollywood operates.
Plus having written a combined 70+ projects for hire at every major studio and broadcast network, and working some of the top producers in Hollywood, we bring a depth of understanding to the story-crafting process.
And with nearly 30 years of background as educators, we know how to work with all types writers and how to communicate with them.
This is not just lip service. In each writing workshop, we provide specific, detailed feedback on writing exercises and assignments, as well as script pages, along with story suggestions and encouragement.
