Calling all writers’ groups!

Both GITS and The Black Board got a nice write-up by the Maryland Writers’ Association. Thank you, MWA! As a show of gratitude, I added their website to this blog’s Resource list.

It got me thinking: There must be a lot of writers’ groups in the United States, Canada, Europe and beyond.

Why not surface those groups? Why not promote them? Why not list them all on the blog?

What is the value of being a member of a writers’ group? I have a lot of thoughts on this, but let me first toss out that question to GITS readers.

If you are a member of a writers’ group, please take some time to share why and what the benefits are to you.

And as I said, let’s aggregate as much contact information about writers’ groups as we can.

UPDATE: I’ve decided to make a concerted effort to amass as many writers’ groups as possible, so please spread the word. When you post your group’s information, please note if it has a web presence. If so, please include URL of website. Also contact information assuming the group is open to the public.
