Why I Think This Is A Classic 80s Movies: Any movie that has been able to stand the test of time deserves to be a classic. This is the case for Real Genius. A film that opened twenty-eight years ago is still being quoted and discussed to this very day. Real Genius blends the witty nature and fantastic music of the 80’s into one solid college comedy.

My Favorite Moment In The Movie: My favorite scene and one of the most iconic scenes from the movie (which was later tested in an episode of Mythbusters) is when a giant bag of popcorn is placed in Professor Hathaway’s home.

Chris Knight: Kent puts his name on his license plate.
Mitch: My mom does the same thing to my underwear.
Chris Knight: Your mom puts license plates on your underwear? How do you sit?

Key Things You Should Look For When Watching This Movie: A couple key things you should look at when viewing this movie is that everyone on the production of this film did their research. Director Martha Coolidge researched CIA policy and laser technology. Along with the fact that a lot of the extras who play teachers are actual professors from numerous colleges in California.
