Dialogue On Dialogue: Crawford lies to Clarice several times and this one begins the trend. He gives Clarice the pretext of presenting a psychological profile to Hannibal Lecter, but his intent is to use her as bait to pique Lecter’s interest, hoping he’ll eventually talk about Buffalo Bill.
