“Don Corleone.”
— The Godfather (1972), screenplay Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola, novel by Mario Puzo
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Door.
Trivia: Francis Ford Coppola insisted on the film being called “Mario Puzo’s The Godfather” rather than just “The Godfather”, because his original draft of the screenplay was so faithful to the novel, he thought Puzo deserved the credit for it.
Dialogue On Dialogue: The final two words of The Godfather overheard by Kay as she looks on at the men gathering around Michael through the doorway… and the last shot — an image of the door being closed, then Kay’s face. She knows Michael just lied to her. Great ending.
