Dialogue On Dialogue: In Hollywood, they have a saying about movie endings: “Give the audience what they expect… then give ’em what they want.” With E.T., we expect our alien buddy to die. That’s been set into motion with his ailment. Hence this All Is Lost moment. What do we want? E.T. to live. And so his ‘resurrection’.
