“It’s moving right toward you.”

Alien (1979), screenplay by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett, story by Dan O’Bannon

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Warning suggested by Lois Bernard.

Trivia: Dallas’ death was to take place in a huge upside down “wind tunnel” in the air duct system. Dallas looks up to see the Alien on the ceiling of this massive cylinder, where it leaps from one side to the other in a super-fast descent toward him. The Alien was to pull Ripley out of the shuttle with the grapple wire where she shoots it with a pistol and makes her way back inside before destroying it with the engines.

Dialogue On Dialogue: What if a character receives a warning, but can do nothing to escape? That’s the situation Dallas finds himself in while trying to roast the Alien inside the Nostromo’s air duct system. A scene filled with claustrophobic terror.
