The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Gift.

Trivia: After the book’s author Thomas Keneally wrote a miniseries-length script, Kurt Luedtke was hired by Steven Spielberg to write the screenplay, but he gave up after four years’ work.

Dialogue On Dialogue: The ring is a gift to commemorate Schindler’s efforts in saving the lives 1,200 Jews during World War II.

In effect, Schindler gave the gift of life to tens of thousands of individuals who were born as the sons, daughters, grandchildren, and so on of that original group of 1,200 survivors. At the end of this clip from the movie, a visual of the remaining members of what is called the “Schindler Jews.”
