“Now Woody, he’s been my pal for as long as I can remember. He’s brave, like a cowboy should be. And kind, and smart. But the thing that makes Woody special, is he’ll never give up on you… ever. He’ll be there for you, no matter what.”

Toy Story 3 (2010), screenplay by Michael Arndt, story by John Lasseter & Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Gift.

Trivia: Bonnie wearing a tutu at the end references the original Brave Little Toaster where the appliances are adopted by a Ballerina at the end of the story.

Dialogue On Dialogue: For my money, perhaps the most emotionally moving sequence of a character giving a gift to another character — Andy giving Bonnie his cherished toys. Such a beautiful ending to the Toy Story franchise.

Wait… this just in.

“Initially was intended to conclude the Toy Story franchise, with Andy saying goodbye to his toys, having had no plans to do a fourth film at the time. But after the film was a huge success, it allowed Pixar to continue the franchise following the toys’ new life at Bonnie’s, with three shorts, two television specials, and eventually, a fourth film.”
