Spock: The needs of the many outweigh…
Kirk: …the needs of the few.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), screenplay by Jack B. Sowards, story by Harve Bennett and Jack B. Sowards, television series ‘Star Trek’ by Gene Roddenberry

The Daily Dialogue theme for next week: Sacrifice, suggested by Denise Garcia.

Trivia: The death of Spock was supposed to be final and irrevocable, in part, because Leonard Nimoy wanted to appear in no more Star Trek projects. However, he enjoyed the experience of filming Star Trek II, and asked if he could return.

Dialogue On Dialogue: The dialogue here is evocative no doubt… but the sharing of the Vulcan greeting, two hands pressed on either side of the glass… that’s the Big Moment. Testament once again to the power of visual storytelling.
