The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Subtext.

Trivia: At one point before Juno visits Mark, he is sitting at his computer reading Diablo Cody’s (the movie’s screenwriter) real-life blog, known as “The Pussy Ranch”.

Dialogue On Dialogue: This is a great example of subtext. Mark and Vanessa are staring at various shades of yellow paint in the baby’s room. It’s important for Vanessa to come to a decision. Clearly Mark is hesitant. His line is about paint, but the subtext suggests he is not ready for the parenting thing… which proves to be true later on in the movie.
