Henchman #1: The two-bit samurai again?
Henchman #2: What do you want this time?
The Samurai: You guys have such cute faces.
Henchman #3: What?
The Samurai: You talk tough but couldn’t hurt a fly. Adorable.
Henchman #1: Don’t take us for fools. See this tattoo? I wasn’t in prison for nothing!
Henchman #2: I’m a wanted fugitive. They’ll crucify me if I’m caught.
Henchman #3: Same here. They’ll stick my head on a pike. Not to brag, but I’ve committed every crime in the book.
The Samurai: So you won’t mind if I kill you?
Henchman #3: What?
Henchman #2: Kill us if you can!
The Samurai: It’ll hurt.
Henchman #1: We’re gamblers. We ain’t afraid of the sword.

Trivia: Yojimbo is an uncredited film version of Dashiell Hammett’s novel ‘Red Harvest’, which has yet to be filmed. Red Harvest is about a detective who comes to a small city and sets two sides of a gang war against one another until both gangs are almost completely wiped out. The scenes where Toshirô Mifune’s character is held and beaten, however, was taken from Hammett’s novel The Glass Key, which has been adapted for the screen twice.
Dialogue On Dialogue: Comments from Teddy: “Isn’t it always the ones that brag the most before a fight that get beaten the worst? The hero doesn’t need to brag. He just tells it like it is and can back it up with his actions.
This would have qualified for this week’s theme as well since it was remade as A Fistful of Dollars in 1964. Note how the coffins joke is handled in the Leone version:”
