Daily Dialogue — March 1, 2014

“Please, Jack, no. I’m frightened.”

Brazil (1985), screenplay by Terry Gilliam & Tom Stoppard & Charles McKeown

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week is agony, suggested by Illimani.

Trivia: Early title for Brazil was “1984 and a 1/2”, an ode to Federico Fellini and 8½ (1963), but the film Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) was released and the idea was scrapped, as there would have been legal trouble with the George Orwell estate.

Dialogue On Dialogue: The build-up to Sam being potentially tortured is agonizing, but then Jack suffers his own form of agony… a terminal one as it turns out.
