“You were nothing before you met me. You were playing Barbies with Betty Finn. You were a Bluebird. You were a Brownie. You were a Girl Scout Cookie.”
— Heathers (1988), written by Daniel Waters
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Teen Talk.
Trivia: Some reviewers have discussed similarities between this film and Massacre at Central High (1976). Daniel Waters has stated that he had not seen the film at the time he wrote the script, but that he had read a review of it in Danny Peary’s book Cult Movies, and that the earlier film may have been “rattling around somewhere in my subconscious”.
Dialogue On Dialogue: The movie is filled with teen talk, most notably by Heather Chandler.
