Daily Dialogue — March 14, 2015

Indiana Jones: Dad, you’re going to have to use the machine gun. [points] Eleven o’clock.
Professor Henry Jones: [checks watch] What happens at eleven o’clock?

— Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), screenplay by Jeffrey Boam, story by George Lucas and Menno Meyjes, characters by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman

The Daily Dialogue theme for next week: Reunion.

Trivia: Steven Spielberg is on record as saying he made the film for two reasons: 1) to fulfill a three-picture obligation he had with George Lucas, and, 2) to atone for the criticism that he received for the previous installment, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984).

Dialogue On Dialogue: The reunion between father and son in this movie is one of the best narrative elements, precisely because of moments like this.
