Daily Dialogue — March 27, 2012

Mrs. Flax: I am sick and tired of being judged by you. You’re a kid. Okay, when you become an adult you can live your life any way you want to. But until then, we’re gonna live my life my way. Start packing.

Charlotte: No!

Mrs. Flax: I said pack! This move is on you and if lover boy doesn’t like it that’s too goddamn bad.

Charlotte: This is not about him. This is about me, okay. That’s over. He is gone. He has left–

Mrs. Flax: Surprise, surprise.

Charlotte: No, it’s not like that. Look, maybe your life works for you, but it doesn’t work for me. And I wanna stay!

Mrs. Flax: And do what?

Charlotte: Finish High School!

Mrs. Flax: Great start! What’s your major, town tramp?

Charlotte: No mom, the town already has one.

Trivia: In the scene where Charlotte and her mother fight about Kate’s accident, Charlotte gets angry and breaks a plate. The scene ends with her mother slapping her in the face after a rude comment. The exact same things happened in Cher’s film Mask.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Speaking of the slap, it happens immediately after Charlotte out-snarking her mother with the line, “No, Mom, the town already has one.”
