Daily Dialogue — March 3, 2015

Ajax: Where are they?
Swan: [caught outside the subway by the Baseball Furies] Maybe we better take off…
Ajax: Yeah, right… [they run] Did we lose these fucking clowns or what?
Swan: Look.
Snow: Holy shit…
Swan: Snow, with me.
Cowboy: [winded, running from the Baseball Furies] I can’t make it.
Ajax: Are you sure?
Cowboy: Yes, I’m sure…
Ajax: Well, good! I’m sick of runnin’ from these wimps! [facing the leader of the Furies] I’ll shove that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsicle. Come on…

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Chase. Today’s suggestion by James Schramm.

Trivia: In the script, Fox was originally the love interest of Mercy, but the two actors had no chemistry and the Mercy romance was transferred to Swan. Waites was fired eight weeks into principal photography, for being difficult and arguing with Walter Hill (director); his character was removed from the movie when a cop threw him into the path of a train during a fight. To this day, Hill felt bad about the rough times he has with Waites. Waites is not in the final credits because he didn’t finish the movie.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Commentary by James: “Chase scene that turns into a great action sequence with over the top threats. The great soundtrack ratchets up the intensity. Classic 70s movie.”
