Trivia: Ted Tally was halfway through his adaptation of Thomas Harris’ novel when financing of the film fell through. Orion president Mike Medavoy urged him to carry on regardless.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Perhaps more an order than advice, but it doesn’t matter because Clarice does precisely the opposite of what Crawford indicates: She most definitely lets Hannibal Lecter inside her head, so in a sense, this dialogue presages what is to come.
