Trivia: The idea was brought to Michel Gondry by his friend the artist Pierre Bismuth who suggested, “You get a card in the mail that says: someone you know has just erased you from their memory…”

Dialogue On Dialogue: After the discovery of what’s on the cassette tape, Joel simply shoves open the passenger door and stares straight ahead. Nothing more to day, the ‘get out’ implied through his actions, the silence underscoring his pain.
