Trivia: Many of the Wicked Witch of the West’s scenes were either trimmed or deleted entirely, as Margaret Hamilton’s performance was thought too frightening for audiences.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Good to remember that the Wicked Witch of the West is driven not only by her desire to attain the ruby red slippers, but also revenge against Dorothy for the death of the Witch of the East.
