“Does anyone want my ice cream?”
“Does anyone want my ice cream?”
— Little Miss Sunshine (2006), written by Michael Arndt
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Seduction.
Trivia: The movie took five years to make, mostly due to financial reasons.
Dialogue On Dialogue: Proving that seduction doesn’t have to be solely about sex, this is a telling scene from Little Miss Sunshine as Richard tries to fat-shame Olive into NOT eating her waffles a la mode, especially the ice cream, but in the end, her family counteracts Richard’s diatribe and Olive gives in to her lust for sweet treats. And you know what? In that moment, we feel pretty good about it, Olive having a chance to act like the little girl she is. It also reinforces just how far Richard has to go get his head out of his ass regarding the whole ‘success / failure’ thing.
