Trivia: The script, originally a television pilot, was heavily revised to become a feature film.

Dialogue On Dialogue: As voice-over narration with a close-up of an American flag, by the time we get through the opening lines, the picture has flipped 180 degrees so the flag is actually upside down on a wrecked car, an apt way of flipping the tone from patriotism… to zombie-ism.
