Dialogue On Dialogue: The Iron Giant represents The Other. In fact, he is dangerous. Watching its psychological transformation, the humanization process via its relationship with the nine year-old boy Hogarth, is powerful. When the Iron Giant, here in this scene, decides to sacrifice itself, that choice feels completely earned. It is one of the best cinematic examples of selflessness I have ever seen. Such a fantastic movie!
