“Hey, I want you to know something. I know who you are. You’re my friend. You’re my brother. But like a really cool brother, you know? Like a brother where there was no animosity.”

Tropic Thunder (2008), screenplay by Justin Theroux & Ben Stiller and Etan Cohen, story by Ben Stiller & Justin Theroux

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Acting.

Trivia: Robert Downey, Jr. was very reluctant to take the role in this film because he felt wearing make-up to look African-American was offensive. Downey ultimately accepted the role because he liked the script and wanted to work with Ben Stiller and Jack Black.

Dialogue On Dialogue: “Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying.” That’s the story concept for this movie where actors become active in tapping into their inner warrior.
