“I’m proud of you, Pa. You taught me how to be a man. How to pitch a bale of hay. How to wrestle a steer to the ground and apply a fiery brand to its hindquarters. And yes, you taught me how to love a woman. How she can find comfort in your strong arms. And how the gentle fragrance of her hair can drive a man wild.”

Waiting for Guffman (1996), written by Christopher Guest, Eugene Levy

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Acting.

Trivia: Writer/director Christopher Guest spent a year and a half editing almost 60 hours of footage with editor Andy Blumenthal to come up with the final cut for the film.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Corky (Christopher Guest) is forced into the role of Jimmy for which he is entirely miscast as an actor… which is clearly visible in this scene.
