“Wally.”

Wall-e (2008), screenplay by Andrew Stanton & Jim Reardon, story by Andrew Stanton & Pete Docter

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Outer Space.

Trivia: Andrew Stanton claimed that the film’s central theme was that irrational love can defeat everything, including programming.

Dialogue On Dialogue: There is scant dialogue in this movie, particular among the robots, but when it’s in use, even calling each other’s names — “Wally” / “Eve” — the inflections convey distinct emotion. Here, Eve expresses excitement over Wally revealing the plant. It sets up one of the movie’s most wonderful scenes: Dancing in outer space.
