Dodge Landon: Take your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape!
Caesar: NO!
— Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), written by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, suggested by the novel “La planete des signes”
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Minimum words, Maximum impact. Today’s suggestion by Ricardo Bravo.
Trivia: Caesar’s speaking voice was mixed by sound designer Chuck Michael, who mixed the sounds of fully grown male chimps’ vocalizations they recorded at Chimp Haven and with Andy Serkis’ voice.
Dialogue On Dialogue: Commentary by Ricardo: “While the closing sentence uttered by Caesar at the end of the movie is very powerful on its own, I chose this is one as it is one of the most OMFG moments in film from this decade. Following the obligated line giving homage to the original classic movie, that single word uttered from the most unexpected character fully demonstrates the extent of Caesar’s intelligence and the effects of the ALZ-112 drug. From that moment on we know that all hell will break loose.”
