Daily Dialogue theme for next week: All Is Lost

After a week’s worth of acceptance speeches [thanks to @TheBrokenCoco for that recommendation], it’s time for a new DDT!

Next week’s theme: All Is Lost, suggested by Teddy Pasternak.

Typically a major reversal in the Protagonist’s progress, the All Is Lost moment is important on multiple levels, perhaps none more so than this: A major test of their will. Do they find the inner strength to pick themselves up and continue toward their goal, or turn away and head back to the Old Life?

The usual drill:

* Copy/paste dialogue from IMDB Quotes or some other transcript source.

* Copy/paste the URL of an accompanying video from MovieClips or YouTube.

I’d also like to ask you to think about why the dialogue is notable. Is there anything about the dialogue which provides some takeaway re screenwriting.
