Daily Dialogue theme for next week: Innuendo

As we wrap up a week’s worth of breakup posts [thanks to Liri Nàvon], we move onto next week’s theme: Innuendo, courtesy of a suggestion by Hawkewood.

Innuendo: “An oblique allusion : hint, insinuation; especially : a veiled or equivocal reflection on character or reputation.”

This is a specific type of subtext although the first movie dialogue that comes to mind for me is the Groucho Marx line: “Love flies out the door, when money comes innuendo.”

The usual drill:

* Copy/paste dialogue from IMDB Quotes or some other transcript source.

* Copy/paste the URL of an accompanying video from MovieClips or YouTube.

I’d also ask you to think about why the dialogue is notable. Is there anything about the dialogue which provides some takeaway re screenwriting?
