Daily Dialogue theme for next week: Tongue Tied

Daily Dialogue theme for next week: Tongue Tied

After a week’s worth of anti-heroes and villain protagonists [courtesy of Shaula Evans], next week’s DDT is tongue-tied, suggested by Annika Wood.

I suppose we could just dub this Hugh Grant week and leave it at that, the actor famous for characters who stumble over their words, but I’ll bet we can come up with some other examples to fill out our week.

The usual drill:

* Copy/paste dialogue from IMDB Quotes or some other transcript source.

* Copy/paste the URL of an accompanying video from MovieClips or YouTube.

I’d also ask you to think about why the dialogue is notable. Is there anything about the dialogue which provides some takeaway re screenwriting?

Here is the lineup for upcoming Daily Dialogue themes:

October 22–28: Sibling Rivalry [Traci Nell Peterson]

October 29-November 4: Kevin Smith [Sean Harris]

November 5–11: Exposition [Dean Scott]

November 12–18: Teacher-Student [Teddy Pasternak]

November 19–25: Breaking The Fourth Wall [Shaula Evans]

November 26-December 2: Giving Birth [blknwite]

December 3-December 9: Confessions of Love [SabinoGiado]

But this week our focus is on notable tongue-tied dialogue.

See you in comments!
