It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

The Daily Dialogue theme for next week: Enthusiasm.

In It’s a Wonderful Life, young George Bailey wanted to see the world, build bridges and skyscrapers. He had enthusiasm to go out and do things.

Then he got trapped in the mundane, day-to-day aspects of living a life. That didn’t seem fulfilling until he was granted a wish: To see what the world would be like if he hadn’t been born.

Enthusiasm. Can we come up with seven great movie examples with that dynamic in play?

The usual drill:

* Copy/paste dialogue from IMDb Quotes or some other transcript source.

* Copy/paste the URL of an accompanying video from YouTube or some other video source.

I’d also ask you to think about why the dialogue is notable. Is there anything about the dialogue which provides some takeaway related to the craft of writing? If so, feel free to lay that wisdom on us.
