Dispatch From The Quest: Christian Fontenot

Over the course of the next 24 weeks when I will be working with the writers in The Quest, I will be posting ‘dispatches’ from them to the GITS community. There are several reasons for this, the main one being educational: Hopefully you will learn something of value for your own understanding of the craft from the experiences of the Questers.

I should also add they are a great group of people, so I expect you will enjoy getting to know them.

Today I would like to introduce Christian Fontenot:

Surrounded by flesh hungry alligators and vengeful pelicans, Christian Fontenot was born and raised in a wooden shanty in the Louisiana swamps. His gift for word manipulation comes from his long lineage of backwoods politicians and redneck football coaches.

In 5th grade, Christian wrote his first screenplay (an Adams Family rip off) and first computer game (a pixel by pixel destruction of the Death Star). In the wonder years that followed, his “League of Super Geeks” produced almost 100 films ranging from a Dallas remake (Sue Ellen’s parakeet shot J.R.) to strangers whose plane crashes on a mysterious island (years before Lost and without polar bears and with a satisfying ending).

Christian currently resides in Seattle, and when he is not writing, he travels the globe searching for the missing pages of Rambaldi’s notebook.

Christian submitted a clean high concept comedy with some edge to it, a story I’m enthusiastic about helping him develop and support in his writing of it.
