Dispatch from The Quest: Update

For the last 14 weeks every Monday through Saturday at 4PM Eastern / 1PM Pacific, I have posted dispatches from six of the participants in “The Quest.” It’s been fascinating to read their insights about the craft and their experiences as they develop their stories in preparation of writing their scripts. I hope you have enjoyed their commentary.

As the Questers move into the page-writing part of the process, I wanted to make sure they were free to focus their creative energies on their stories. So from here on out, their dispatches are optional. We may have some one week, none the next. I left it to each of them to decide if and when to do dispatches along the way to FADE OUT.

At the very least each Monday, I will provide an update on what “The Quest” schedule is. This week, it’s The Opening. If you are participating in Go On Your Own Quest, that should be your focus, too.

The first few scenes, indeed, the first few pages of your script are critical. A reader starts to form an opinion about your story and you as a writer immediately. So whatever you come up with as an Opening, make darn sure it’s entertaining.
