“DIY on the Web”

Following up on this post “Big Splash for the Streamys”, the WGA digs deeper into writers creating new media content:

Get the behind-the-scenes lowdown on how it’s all done from conception, budget, execution, and posting online from this newly released video recap of an informative seminar recently presented by WGAW Independent Film, dubbed “Web Entrepreneurs: Imagination Meets Commerce,” held at the American Film Market in Santa Monica.
Moderated by WGAW member/writer Tom Smuts (Close to Home, The Guardian), the timely panel featured fellow writers who are writing, producing, and distributing their own content online, including Rick Eid (The Ex-List, Law & Order), Mary Feuer (With the Angels, Lonelygirl15), Brent V. Friedman (Gemini Division, Afterworld), and Ken LaZebnik (The Christmas Cottage, co-founder Strike TV), exploring relevant questions such as: What are the risks and rewards for writing online? What are the most viable business models for online content? What are the advantages of working independently vs. with media conglomerates?

Have any of you created scripted content for the Web?

And what are your favorite web series?

Here’s a webisode of one of the early web series Lonelygirl15:
