Do you have a question about the film or TV business?
So like a zillion of us, Franklin Leonard was watching the flood of Super Bowl commercials yesterday and had this question: “Is there a different process for creating Super Bowl movie ads than there is from creating them the rest of the year?”
And as he mused over that question, this thought occurred to him: “I’ll bet GITS readers have a lot of questions like that.”
Then Franklin emailed me to offer this: “If a GITS reader has a question about the film or TV business, how a specific facet of the entertainment industry works, I’d be happy to track down someone who can answer it.”
To which I thought: “Damn. That’d be cool!”
So let’s say you’ve always wondered what the process is whereby a movie studio comes up with a poster for one of their films.
Or how do long-running TV series keep track of all the stories they’ve had to make sure they don’t repeat themselves.
Or what does a writer’s assistant actually do.
Any questions you have about the film or TV business, here’s your chance to ask. Development, production, post-production, marketing, distribution, financing, technological, post them here and let’s see what Franklin can do in finding someone to provide the answers.
Thanks, Franklin, for the offer!
GITS people, see you in comments!
