Documentary: “The Graham Greene Trilogy”

1993 BBC doc about the renowned novelist, playwright, and screenwriter.

One of my favorite novels is “The Power and the Glory” written by Graham Greene. I picked it up the other day and re-read the first few chapters. It’s still a powerful story. It got me thinking about Greene as a writer and his influence on cinema. In doing some quick research, it appears that almost all of his novels were adapted as movies including “Brighton Rock”, “The Ministry of Fear” and “The End of the Affair”. He also wrote numerous teleplays and screenplays including the incredible The Third Man (1949).

Here is a 1993 BBC documentary about Greene featuring a host of novelists reflecting on his place in literary history as well as music by Brian Eno and readings from Greene’s books by Sir Alec Guinness.
