Featurette: “Short Term 12”

One of my favorite movies of the year is Short Term 12, written and directed by Destin Cretton. Here is a featurette about the movie with some observations by Cretton:

As we all know, making an independent film is an arduous task involving the contributions of dozens, sometimes even hundreds of people. The Short Term 12 team received some funding from the San Francisco Film Society to help with the movie’s post-production. You can read about that here.

What SFFS executive director Ted Hope and his outfit is doing is an example of what is going on all around the country as film lovers support artists with unique voices and distinctive stories to tell, just like Destin Cretton. The least we can do is provide our support with our dollars. Go see indie movies. Check out what’s available on Video On Demand (VOD). You’d be shocked to see how many current independent movies are available via cable or satellite concurrent with their theatrical run or sometimes even before they have been released theatrically.
