Free Screenwriting Resource: Guide to Aristotle’s “Poetics”

Aristotle’s “Poetics” is one of the most important influences on the evolution of our collective understanding of Story, yet a few years back it struck me I had only read portions of it, never the whole text. So beginning in May 2013 and continuing pretty much each week until March 2014, I serialized the entirety of “Poetics”.

What is great about the series is it not only includes a translation of the whole text, post by post, along the way a group of really smart folks, who I called the “Aristotelians”, provided informed commentary on each weekly post. Combined with my own observations, focusing on what screenwriters could take away from Aristotle’s writings, it turned out to be a great resource for writers.
