Free Screenwriting Resource: Guide to Aristotle’s “Poetics”

Aristotle’s “Poetics” is one of the most important influences on the evolution of our collective understanding of Story, yet last year it struck me that I had only read portions of it, never the whole text. So beginning in May 2013 and continuing pretty much each week until March 2014, I serialized the entirety of “Poetics”.

What is great about the series is it not only includes a translation of the whole text, post by post, along the way a group of really smart folks, who I called the “Aristotelians”, provided informed commentary on each weekly post. Combined with my own observations, focusing on what screenwriters could take away from Aristotle’s writings, it turned out to be what I think is a great resource for writers.
